LACASA Center and Cleary University Center Host Special Discussion, Exhibit for Sexual Assault Awareness Month
WHAT: Join LACASA’s Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) and Cleary University for a discussion about sexual violence and create a T-shirt in support of victims and survivors as part of the Clothesline Project and Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The Clothesline Project Exhibit is currently on display at Cleary University, featuring T-shirts with messages created by sexual assault victims, survivors, and their supporters.

WHEN: Speakers, DIY project on Tuesday, April 9 from noon – 2pm. (The Clothesline Project Exhibit runs through 4/18)
WHY: More than half of all women and nearly one-third of all men in the United States have experienced sexual violence. Sexual Assault Awareness Month calls attention to the fact that sexual violence is widespread and impacts every person in the community, and aims to raise public awareness about sexual violence and educate communities on how to prevent it.

ABOUT LACASA: LACASA provides comprehensive, wrap-around services under one roof for victims and survivors of child abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault. The agency’s Sexual Assault Response Center offers confidential forensic exams in a private setting, which are conducted by specially-trained Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners. In addition, victims and survivors have access to shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, and critical support programs.
