offers hands-on health and wellness education for pre-K through sixth-grade students
CANTON, Mich. (Aug. 27, 2026) – The Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum and Leslie Science & Nature Center, in partnership with Trinity Health Michigan, announced today that schools can now book their 2026-27 visit to the Health Exploration Station, a 3,500-square-foot interactive health and wellness learning center located inside Trinity Health Medical Center – Canton.
The Health Exploration Station served Southeast Michigan schools and families for more than two decades before closing in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Following significant investments from the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum, Leslie Science & Nature Center, and Trinity Health Michigan, the space reopened in December 2025 with updated, larger-than-life interactive exhibits focused on nutrition, physical activity, mental health, anatomy, and substance use and vaping prevention. Following a successful pilot phase during the 2025-26 winter semester, the facility is now welcoming school groups on an ongoing basis.

Educational programming at the Health Exploration Station is designed around the whole child and rooted in the understanding that healthy children are best supported by healthy families and communities. Programs for pre-kindergarten through sixth-grade students are centered on two core themes, body systems and healthy habits, with age-appropriate content tailored to each grade level.

The Health Exploration Station can be found in the lower level of the Trinity Health Medical Center – Canton, located at 1600 Canton Center Rd. in Canton Township.
