Howell Celebrates Earth Day with Purpose: Reduce, Reuse, Rebuild at the ReStore
On Saturday, April 25, 2026, Livingston County Habitat for Humanity (LCHFH) invites you to experience Earth Day in action at the ReStore, 7198 Grand River Ave., Brighton, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
This is more than an event where discarded items become renewed purpose. At the ReStore, every donation and purchase helps fund safe, affordable housing across Livingston County. Last year alone, Habitat completed 129 urgent home repairs, serving 84 households, with more projects already underway. What you recycle here helps keep neighbors in their homes.
Reduce. Reuse. Recycle, then rebuild. Expo offers hands-on opportunities to recycle and get a jump on spring cleaning.
Bring items that make a difference:
Latex Paint Recycling: $2/per gallon, $10/5-gallon bucket. Accepted: water-based paint in original containers. Not accepted: oil-based or hazardous materials.
Paper Recycling: Newspapers, magazines, mail, and shredded paper are accepted.
Metal Recycling: Copper, steel, aluminum, wire, and more, divert waste while conserving resources.
Eyeglasses (Hartland Lions Club) Collected for reuse for those in need.
Batteries (Batteries Plus): Collecting cars, trucks, lawn, and garden batteries.
Bottle & Can Drive: Support recycling efforts while giving back locally.
Clean Water Solutions (Beauchamp Water Treatment) – Clean water station. Explore vendor booths, hands-on children’s activities, food, and a store filled with home goods, appliances, and materials ready for a second life.
For many local families, one unexpected repair can mean instability or displacement. Habitat’s work restores safety, preserves dignity, and keeps people where they belong, at home.
Here’s our ask: Come attend the event, recycle, and shop. Don’t just celebrate Earth Day, live it.
Bring your recyclables. Shop with purpose. Donate what you no longer need. Volunteer your time.
Because at the ReStore, it’s Earth Day every day, and every action you take builds something bigger.
